Der Friedensnobelpreis 2011 wird dreigeteilt für drei Frauen aus Afrika. «Dies öffnet die Tür für Frauen auf dem gesamten Kontinent».
Die Auszeichnung erhalten die liberianische Präsidentin Ellen Johnson-Sireleaf, ihre Landsfrau Leymah Roberta Gbowee und Tawakkul Karman aus Jemen für ihren Einsatz für Demokratie und Frauenrechte.
